Thank you for taking the opportunity to find out more about St Mary’s Catholic College Sixth Form. As you approach the next stage of your educational journey you have many important choices to make. The next two years should be some of the best years of your life, and will provide you with memories to last a lifetime. We are immensely proud of our Sixth Form students at St Mary’s, not just for all that they achieve, but also for all that they do to contribute to our thriving College community. Once again, in our October 2019 inspection, our Sixth Form was recognised as a great strength of our College.
Every decision that we make, and everything that we do, places the needs of the individual student first. We are totally committed to providing the very best education we can offer, not just academic but also extra-curricular. This year we offer an enhanced curriculum that provides a pathway for all students. We feel that as our Sixth Form grows, everyone should have the opportunity to study here and hopefully this is reflected in the wide range of courses on offer. Throughout your time with us you will receive the very best pastoral and academic support possible. As a member of the Holy Family Catholic MAT, we are able to draw on a much wider field of experience to support you in your studies and offer a wide range of enrichment experiences.
If you are a current student at St Mary’s, you will already know that the staff here will go that extra mile for you, those new to our Sixth Form are welcomed with open arms in to our friendly and supportive Sixth Form. As a Catholic College we live our gospel values and create a supportive and caring ethos. We are focused on being a place for all individuals to succeed and grow.
Sixth Form life is different to being in school, you will be given greater privileges, responsibilities and opportunities, both for your own personal development and the well-being of others. You will be taught in smaller groups, have more self-directed study time and will work towards becoming a highly successful, capable and independent learner, ready to tackle the challenges of life after St Mary’s. Students from our 2022 cohort have progressed to a wide range of destinations, including Oxford University and higher level apprenticeships.
I am delighted you are considering joining us and look forward to meeting in person.
